Dr Liddell’s career in orthopaedics began with a degree in Exercise Physiology and Biomechanics. He was awarded a Track and Field scholarship in the United States, where he also competed in athletics. After returning to Australia, he completed his medical studies at the University of Queensland and continued to participate in national-level distance running.
In 2012, Dr Liddell was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) and the Australian Orthopaedic Association (AOA). He undertook further sub-specialty training in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy at McGill University in Canada, where he gained experience in managing sports-related injuries and contributed to research on ACL reconstruction techniques.
Alongside his clinical work, Dr Liddell is involved in research and education. He has contributed to publications and presented at international conferences on knee surgery and sports medicine. He also teaches medical students and orthopaedic trainees at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital.
